Thursday we drove half an hour north of Anchorage to the Eagle River Nature Center.
It was cold but we bundled up well and enjoyed our three and a half hour hike.
The snow was deeper there and still sticking to the trees which make it so beautiful.
Now THIS is what I imagined an Alaskan winter would look like.

in picture number 2, what I thought was a male cardinal sitting in some evergreens turned out to be Geoff amidst some quite massive evergreens once I enlarged! I'm still amazed at the size and scale of Alaska!
